Last month we had 2 German guests and their dog, hiking the ‘Via Algarviana’, a former pilgrimage route which crosses the Algarve from East to West. For some of their hikes in the more eastern Algarve, they had taken us as a basecamp. Our ideal location, close to the Via Algarviana allowed them to walk some beautiful trails without luggage. They asked us to arrange transportation to and from their destination and their dinner. They had arranged taxis for their transport so far, but found that a lot of hassle. After a day of walking, they wanted above all to relax and not have to worry about transportation. Arriving back in our B&B Algarve after a day’s hike, dinner was already served and ready to be savoured. Although they had planned to stay for just two days, they ended up staying an entire week.
This gave us the idea to offer a hiking package deal to our guests. The hinterland of the Algarve is beautiful and unspoilt. The beautiful Via Algarviana is a great hiking trail that gives you the possibility to discover this beautiful hinterland.
