In addition to a fantastic coastline and beaches, the Algarve offers more. The hilly and green interior is a true paradise for hikers. There are many unpaved roads and goat paths through this beautiful nature. The most famous route is called ‘Via Algarviana’. This route was originally a religious path that pilgrims walked to the headland at Sagres, where the relics of the saint São Vicente are found.

The ‘Via Algarviana‘ runs from Alcoutim, near the river Guadiana, to Cabo de São Vicente and is divided into 14 sectors and many link routes. We offer you a hiking holiday through the unspoilt countryside of the Algarve. You will enjoy the beautiful views and the wonderful smells of nature as rosemary, thyme and lavender, while walking along nature trails. You see a lot of oak trees as well as fig-, almond and carob trees. Various species such as Bonelli’s eagle, owls and hops got their home base here. Besides the beautiful and varied countryside, there are lovely villages on the route, such as Salir or Alte which are worth a visit.
What offers this 8-days hiking package deal? -
CASAL DA EIRA
We offer the opportunity to hike some eastern routes of the Via Algarviana. The first day you will start hiking in Cachopo. The last day the trail ends in Alte. The beautiful hike from Parises to Sao Bras de Alportel is also included. Every night you sleep in our B&B Casal da Eira. At night your dinner is served in the B&B and on your way you can enjoy the snacks in your lunch box. It gives you the possibility to fully enjoy the hike without worrying about anything else.
We offer this special in the months June and September. B&B Casal da Eira offers this individual 8-days hiking trip package for a minimum of 2 people.
Based on 2 persons we offer:
- 7 nights in a 2p room, private bathroom;
- 5 x transport to start and end point of the route of Via Algarviana;
- 5 x trail of the Via Algarviana, ranging from 12-18 km (it is possible to tweak distances to your personal wishes);
- 7 x breakfast, 5 x lunch package and 5 x dinner;
- transfer to and from Faro airport.
Total price for this 8-days hiking holiday is € 625,- per person based on a reservation and room occupancy by 2 persons.
In September there will be a surcharge of € 70,- per person.
The price does not include toerist tax.
