Hiking the Via Algarviana -
CASAL DA EIRA
In addition to a fantastic coastline and beaches, the Algarve offers more. The hilly and green interior is a true paradise for hikers. There are many unpaved roads and goat paths through this beautiful nature. The most famous route is called ‘Via Algarviana’. This route was originally a religious path that pilgrims walked to the headland at Sagres, where the relics of the saint São Vicente are found.

The subtropical climate makes it possible to cycle in the Algarve throughout the year. Even in December / January with an average temperature of 16 C it is very nice to cycle in the Algarve. Ideal for training purposes, for example to prepare for the road season cycling or skating season, but also for annual ‘outings’ of companies and sporting associations such as cyclists or runners.
